A tribute to tradition, family, and Michael Barber’s favorite grape.
Because, let’s face it, a good bottle of sangiovese and a plate of pasta makes life worth living!
Our winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in the traditions of Montalcino, Italy. We’ve always wanted to craft a Sangiovese that honored those classic roots—two hand punch downs per day, short macerations, and harvesting for acidity rather than sugar.
We found the perfect partner in the Santo Giordano vineyard. Tucked into the eastern edge of the Petaluma Gap, the constant bay breezes keep the fruit fresh and lively. After 2+ years aging in a mixture of french and toasted Missouri oak, this wine is truly a wonder. It carries the classic Sangiovese notes of Bing cherry, dust, and tomato, finished with a subtle hint of chocolate from the oak.
